Lone Elk Lodge

The Lone Elk Lodge is located on eastern front of the Rocky Mountains, with Glacier National Park to the north and the Badger Two Medecine to the south. The Rocky Mountain Continental Divide is seven miles to the west, while the Blackfeet Indian Reservation borders our east property line. This means you have an abundance of  scenic mountain hiking/skiing trails as well as pristine fishing lakes in close proximity. Marias Pass, which is located on the Continental Divide, offers some of the most beautiful hiking and cross-country skiing trails in the state. The Blackfeet reservation has world class trout fishing that offers an experience you will never forget.  We can help arrange an experienced Blackfoot fishing guide to help you find that prized trophy fish in the richly stocked reservation lakes.

Fishing Glacier Park

Glacier National Park does not require a license for fishing. That fee is built into your park entrance permit.
Most of the lakes you hike to in Glacier are from two to six miles one way. You'll find that the fishing experience is worth the effort of the hike. You will be rewarded to a great catch and a beautiful hike.
The Blackfoot Indian Reservation offers world-class fishing opportunities for the fishing enthusiast. The hardy fisherman will find that in the early spring after the ice breaks, monster trout are hungry, and a well-baited line will provide a lifetime experience.  Fishing the many lakes of the reservation can be very productive as they are being managed to produce trophy trout. Twenty-inch trout are common, and don't be surprise to hook one much bigger. Maps, directions, and suggestions for the right flies to use are available.
